In a unanimous vote, California’s State Board of Education has adopted new academic standards for English-language arts and mathematics study in grades K-12.
“The association’s mission is to ensure a high-quality education for all students, and nothing is going to distract us from that mission,” Pugh said.

California’s State Board of Education approved emergency regulations last month to allow parents to apply to transfer their children to higher-performing schools in other districts, or petition for fundamental reforms.
