In February, First Lady Michelle Obama launched the Let's Move! campaign to solve the childhood obesity epidemic within a generation. The Task Force on Childhood Obesity has created a report which details a coordinated strategy, identifies key benchmarks, and outlines an action plan to end the problem of childhood obesity within a generation.
CSBA and California Project LEAN have developed new resources to support school governance teams and their districts/county offices of education in establishing a comprehensive physical activity program for students, including components such as safe routes to school, joint use of facilities, and physical activity before, during and after school.
