Kristin Lindgren-Bruzzone
General Counsel
As General Counsel, Kristin Lindgren-Bruzzone leads CSBA’s Legal Department, including acting as CSBA’s corporate counsel and directing the work of the Education Legal Alliance. Lindgren-Bruzzone is responsible for professional legal counsel to CSBA leadership and management, oversees Legal Department programs, services and activities, and provides hands-on legal and strategic advice regarding all legal matters affecting CSBA. She served as the Deputy General Counsel for CSBA for three years prior to becoming General Counsel.
Lindgren-Bruzzone has dedicated her almost 20-year legal career to public education, including 16 years representing California school districts, county offices of education and community colleges at the law firms Kingsley Bogard and Liebert Cassidy Whitmore in a broad range of subject areas, including employment and labor, governance, policy development, First Amendment issues, student issues and special education. She also conducted numerous fact-finding investigations and was a prolific public speaker, providing trainings and conference presentations throughout the state of California to public agencies on a wide variety of topics. Lindgren-Bruzzone also served on the board of the California Council of School Attorneys. Her depth of knowledge and passion for education law allows her to provide excellent service to CSBA and its members.
Lindgren-Bruzzone received her Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Davis School of Law (King Hall) and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in Law and Theory from California State University, Chico.
