Robert Gin
Director-at-Large, API, Alhambra USD
Bob Gin was elected as the California School Boards Association Director-at-Large, Asian/Pacific Islander (API) in 2014, having served as a Delegate for Region 23 since 2005. Gin has also served on CSBA's Annual Education Conference (AEC) Planning Committee.
Gin is currently the President of the Alhambra Unified School District Board of Education. During his years on the Board, district schools have received notable accolades including: National Blue Ribbon, California Distinguished Schools, California Exemplary Technical Academic Award and Title 1 Academic Achieving School. He has also served as Vice President of the Asian Pacific Islander School Board Member Association since 2002.
Gin is also active in numerous cultural organizations and committees, including the Community Advisory Board of the Los Angeles Natural History Museum, Heritage Asian Pacific, Inc. and Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance.
Gin has resided in the city of Monterey Park for the last 48 years. He and his wife Diane have four daughters, all of whom attended school in the Alhambra USD.
