Ellen Driscoll
Director, Region 6, Rescue Union ESD
Ellen Driscoll, a board member in the Rescue Union School District, is the Region 6 Director of the California School Boards Association, representing Sacramento, El Dorado, Yolo, Alpine, and Mono counties. She was elected to the Board of Directors in 2012.
Driscoll was elected to the Rescue Union School District board of trustees in 2002 after nine years of constant involvement on site and district committees. She has served as president of her board for five terms, as vice president and clerk each for two terms. Driscoll was instrumental in formulating the district's Green Schools Committee She has been president of the El Dorado County School Board Association since 2008, assisting with the planning and presentation of various county board workshops. In 2006 and in 2012, she received the county's Spirit of Boardsmanship award.
As a committed participant in CSBA, Driscoll completed the Masters in Governance program in 2006, the same year she was elected to the Delegate Assembly. She chaired the AEC Planning Committee in 2011 after serving as a member of that committee in 2008 and 2009.
A strong education and community supporter, Driscoll has campaigned for several parcel taxes and bond measures. She is an active presence in various community and educational organizations in her area and serves on the corporate board of El Dorado County Friends of the Library.
Driscoll earned a bachelors degree in Political Science from Western Washington University. She has three grown children.
