Chris Norwood

Chris Norwood is a dedicated leader serving as a senior leader on the Milpitas Unified School District board. He is a founding Santa Clara County School Boards Association Legislative Action Committee member and was honored as the 2020 CSBA School Board Member of the Year. With over 20 years of experience in education, governance and technology, Norwood is widely recognized as a social change agent, championing greater educational and career equity with a strong emphasis on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
A passionate advocate for student success and empowerment, Chris actively mentors other school board members and educational leaders throughout the state. He believes in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence, encouraging the 9,720 students, their families, and over 1,000 Milpitas USD employees to always strive to be their best selves.
Norwood is a proud product of the Milpitas USD and graduated from William Jessup University, earning a bachelor of science in Christian leadership and biblical theology. Norwood is dedicated to his family and is the proud father of two children.
