Annette Yee Steck
Board Member, Carmel Unified School District
Annette Yee Steck brings extensive experience and expertise in education governance and finance to her role as a Monterey County Board of Education member, representing Trustee Area 1 since July 2022. With nearly three decades of service on the Carmel Unified School District Board, Steck demonstrated exemplary leadership throughout her tenure, often serving as board president. Her dedication to fostering educational excellence and sound governance practices earned her widespread respect.
Steck's professional expertise extends to financial advising, specializing in assisting municipalities, including school districts, with financing since 1995. She continues her impactful work as managing director at Montague DeRose and Associates.
A graduate of the CSBA’s Masters in Governance
® (MIG) program, she became part of the MIG faculty in 2005, instructing on various topics including school finance, collective bargaining, and county offices of education.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in business economics and economics systems science from the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating magna cum laude.
