Since "Charter Schools: A Manual for Governance Teams," was last published in 2012, significant changes to California’s school funding, accountability and assessment system have impacted all public schools, including charter schools. This handbook provides updated information based on new legislation, legal cases and CSBA recommendations that impact how governance teams provide effective oversight to charter schools. The publication covers different aspects of charter school oversight, including the petition and review process, facilities responsibilities, renewal and revocation. With this new edition, CSBA continues its efforts to provide its members with relevant information that can lead to more informed decision-making. Copies will be available through CSBA’s online bookstore by February 2016.
