Some of California’s leading education law firms—Premier-level CSBA Business Affiliates—are partnering with CSBA to bring their expertise to members in a three-part webcast series under the auspices of the Business Affiliates Program.
Although the topics of each webcast could change as developments dictate, the first webcast in the series—at 10 a.m. Oct. 2—is scheduled to feature the state’s new Local Control Funding Formula for school funding and its impact on collective bargaining; transgender student rights; and an update on other pressing legal issues facing California school districts and county offices of education.
Legal experts from the law firms of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo; Fagen, Friedman & Fulfrost; and Lozano Smith will discuss what governance teams need to know about these subjects in an hourlong interactive discussion format that includes opportunity for questions from viewers.
“Most districts don’t have legal counsel on staff, and they will surely benefit from this briefing on some of the most pressing legal issues of the day,” said CSBA General Counsel Keith J. Bray, who will moderate the panel discussion. “This series is a great way to bring the expertise of our legal partners to CSBA members.”
Each webcast will be archived for CSBA members to view at their convenience. Attendance is complimentary, but registration is required to ensure all have an opportunity to view the live program.
