New CFO brings business acumen to CSBA

Stephen W. Pogemiller recently joined CSBA’s staff as chief financial officer, responsible for overseeing and evaluating strategic financial objectives. He serves as executive director of the association’s affiliated CSBA District Services Corp. and CSBA Finance Corp. and supervises the Accounting and Building Services departments and business development pursuits, which encompass CSBA’s Business Affiliates program.
Pogemiller was previously CFO of the banking service company FirstLine Inc. in West Sacramento, a subsidiary of Diebold Inc. Prior to that he was president and chief executive officer of Heritage Community Credit Union, including the period of its transition from a federal to a community-based institution. Heritage was named one of Sacramento’s best places to work in 2003 by the Sacramento Area Human Resources Association.
Pogemiller earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Iowa and is a certified public accountant. The Iowa native has a certificate in human resources management from California State University, Sacramento, and completed an executive development program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He and his wife Monica live in Elk Grove and have three children.
