Nominations open for president-elect, vice president
Published: April 1, 2013
Nominations for CSBA’s 2014 president-elect and vice president are being accepted through June 3.
Candidates must possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills. They must have the commitment to lead a statewide education association and understand the vision and mission of CSBA.
They also must:
- Serve on a CSBA-member school district or county
- Receive a minimum of three nominations
- Nominations may be made by either a school or county board that is a member of CSBA, or by an individual member of a CSBA-member board.
This is a very important leadership opportunity, according to Bonnie Castrey, chair of the 2013 CSBA Nominating Committee, who’s a member of the Huntington Beach Union High School District governing board and a CSBA delegate from Region 15.
Nomination forms can be found on CSBA’s website. They must be received by CSBA no later than Monday, June 3.
In a separate process, also detailed on CSBA’s website, those candidates who have received three nomination forms will have until July 10 to submit formal declarations of candidacy. The Delegate Assembly will elect the officers at its Dec. 5 meeting in San Francisco. The successful candidates will take office immediately following CSBA’s Dec. 5-7 Annual Education Conference and Trade Show in San Diego and serve for the following year.
