CALSA Summer Institute in Carlsbad July 21-23

The California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators will host its ninth annual Summer Institute, “Surviving in a Time of Crisis II; Successful Strategies to Weather the Storm,” July 21-23 at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa in Carlsbad.

CALSA’s Summer Institute offers informative workshops, “job-alike” sessions where administrators can share their professional experiences, and career advancement advice, including expert evaluations of cover letters and resumes along with simulated job interviews to help aspiring applicants sharpen their job search skills. A special panel presentation this year, “Latinas in the Superintendency,” is also scheduled.

Speakers will include. Francisco Rodriguez, president of Mira Costa Community College, and Sylvia Mendez, whose family helped advance equal education opportunities through the landmark desegregation case of Mendez v. Westminster.
