Nominations open through June 7 for CSBA’s president-elect, vice president

Nominations for CSBA’s 2011 president-elect and vice president are being accepted through June 7. Candidates must possess strong leadership skills and the dedication to perform the duties of the office for which they are nominated. They must be passionate supporters of public education and be strong advocates for all California students. They must serve on the board of a CSBA-member school district or county office of education and receive a minimum of three Officer Nomination forms.

Nominations may be made by either the governing board of a CSBA-member school district or county office of education or by an individual member of a CSBA-member board. Nomination forms, available on CSBA’s Web site, can be submitted online or printed out and faxed or mailed to CSBA. Mailed forms must be postmarked by June 7; all other forms must be received by 5 p.m. June 7.

Candidates that have received three nomination forms must submit formal declarations of candidacy by July 12. Nominations will be made public Oct. 19, and the Delegate Assembly will elect the officers at its Dec. 2 meeting in San Francisco. The new officers’ one-year terms begin immediately following CSBA’s Dec. 2-4 Annual Education Conference and Trade Show.
