Sample resolution opposes further cuts to education

A sample resolution opposing proposed cuts to the state’s education budget has been added to the member advocacy materials on CSBA’s “Schools: an investment we can’t afford to cut" Web page.

Noting that “California’s educational programs have been cut to the bone, in some cases down to the marrow,” the resolution declares, “these unprecedented cuts are changing the face of education for an entire generation of schoolchildren.”

It goes on to detail impacts in a variety of areas, from Regional Occupational Programs to administration and beyond.

Boards that adopt the resolution are asked to fax copies to CSBA at 916-372-3369.

Also available on CSBA’s Web site are key messages and talking points for easy reference in explaining the ongoing budget crisis to community members and the media, along with more information and advocacy resources.
