Naomi Eason
Chief, Research and Education Policy Development
Naomi Eason, Ed.D., has been with CSBA for more than nine years. Before heading up the Research Department, Eason led the Member Services Department for eight years where she oversaw CSBA’s training efforts including the Annual Educational Conference and Trade Show (AEC) and the Masters in Governance (MIG) program.
With close to 30 years of experience as a district and county office educator and administrator, Eason is committed to supporting members so they can better fulfill their board responsibilities. As a longtime champion for underperforming students, Eason previously served as the executive director of Building Educated Leaders for Life (BELL) California. Prior to her work at BELL, Eason was the assistant superintendent, Educational Services Division for the Alameda County Office of Education, where she directed professional development offered to administrators in the 18 school districts in Alameda County. She worked for the California State University system in the CalStateTEACH multiple subject credentialing program at the CSU Monterey Bay and East Bay campuses. Eason also served as a principal and district office administrator in the Emery Unified School District and as a teacher in the Oakland Unified School District.
Eason earned her Ed.D. in educational leadership from the University of the Pacific; a Master of Arts in educational leadership and administrative services credential, both from California State University, East Bay; and a multiple subject teaching credential and Bachelor of Arts in liberal studies, from Mills College.
