Andrés Fernandez-Vergara

Andrés is a doctoral student in UCLA's Department of Education and a Graduate Student Researcher at the UCLA Center for Community Schooling. His current work examines how the attributes of a state grant --the California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP)-- shape its implementation in district offices, particularly around making sense of scaling up a non-standardized strategy like community schooling. His previous work has focused on program and policy evaluation, using multiple methods to study improvement processes in California, Latin America, and Chile in particular. He is an instructor of Causal Inference and Public Policy at Universidad de Chile, and is co-founder and consultant at the Chilean research-oriented nonprofit 'Fundación Co-Crecer'.
