The program
Redistricting is the process of redrawing and rebalancing legislative and local jurisdictional district boundaries every ten years following the decennial US Census. This process has become more complex since passage of the Fair Maps Act in 2019. Additionally, boards which still use at-large elections may find additional pressure to convert to district-based elections with the release of new census data. Redistricting Partners has partnered with CSBA to deliver districting or redistricting services to school boards in a cost-effective way that is data informed, community driven, and board focused.
Districting under the California Voting Rights Act and redistricting under the Fair Maps Act does not have to be a difficult process. Redistricting Partners has developed a program over the past decade that allows boards to have a fair, open redistricting that follows best practices and engages communities and while also ensuring the highest quality final product.
