Fiscal Responsibility: Key Financial Concepts for New Board Members

 

Managing school finances and financial planning is daunting for even the most seasoned financial professionals. This two-hour course will help new board members understand and navigate budgets, grants, various funding sources and legal financial requirements.

 

CSBA’s experts will introduce new board members to numerous financial topics, including:

 

  • Understanding district budget priorities
  • Financial accountability across funding sources
  • Strategic resource allocation

 

Virtual Training Date and Time:

 

Monday, March 31, 2025 | 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

 

Registration fee: $325 standard registration / Late registration: $375 (Beginning on March 3, 2025)

Registration closes on March 17, 2025.

 

CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION:

 

Cancellations must be received in writing five (5) business days prior to the date of the conference via email to register@csba.org. Telephone requests will not be honored. Cancellations or transfers received within five (5) business days of the event are not eligible for a refund as food/beverage (in-person training) and materials have been ordered on your behalf. There are no refunds for no shows. CSBA encourages substitutions from within a district/county office.

 

CSBA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any event if the required attendance minimums are unmet. Attendance minimums for in-person training are set to be fiscally responsible in the use of public funds for training. The attendance minimum for an in-person training is a registration minimum of 25 participants. For virtual training events, the registration minimum is 20 participants.
