Join us for a comprehensive training session designed for you! In this bundle, you'll delve into both California School Board Ethics and Key Elements of the Brown Act Training.
Program
The California School Board Ethics training meets statutory requirements and covers applicable laws, includes hypothetical scenarios for deeper understanding, and provides resources for further learning. Attendees will receive a certificate of completion. Required every two years under AB 2158, this training is mandatory for all school board members, regardless of compensation.
Joing Key Elements of the Brown Act training to explore key elements of this important legislation. This session offers an overview of the essential aspects of the Brown Act, providing crucial insights without the depth of a full training.
Who should attend?
Board members are subject to the ethics training requirement whether or not the member receives any type of compensation, salary, stipend or reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of official duties. (Gov. Code § 53234.)
The intricacies of the Brown Act provide important, yet often convoluted guidelines for board presidents, superintendents, and members of your governance team.
Registration
The registration fee for both the California School Board Ethics Training and Key Elements of the Brown Act Training is $225, including materials. This does not include access to the CSBA County Board Member Services Conference.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your registration or have any questions, please direct all cancellation requests via email to register@csba.org. Registrants may cancel with written notice for a full refund until August 28, 2024. After August 28, registrants may cancel with written notice for a 50% refund until September 5, 2024. Cancellations or transfers received after September 5 are not eligible for a refund, as materials have been ordered on your behalf. There are no refunds for no-shows. Please include your name, organization, and the event title in all correspondence.
