Registration is now open for the 2016 Advocacy Institute in Washington D.C. on Jan. 24-26. Hosted by the National School Boards Association, the Advocacy Institute is the annual “Day on the Hill” for school board members across the country. The event provides an opportunity for school trustees to meet with California congressional representatives to discuss federal education issues and legislation and offer important perspective on how these issues affect schools and students. The event includes two days of informational sessions, legislative seminars, speakers and issues briefings on Sunday, Jan. 24, and Monday, Jan. 25, with meetings on Capitol Hill taking place Tuesday, Jan. 26. School board members interested in attending must first
pre-register with CSBA, so that staff can schedule meetings with your representatives in advance of the event. Once your pre-registration is complete, you must then
register with NSBA for the event. Complete event information and details are
available online. Please contact
CSBA’s Governmental Relations staff if you have any questions or need assistance with registration.
