Course 5 │ Redding
Community Relations & Advocacy | Governance Integration
Prerequisite: Courses 1 - 4
In Community Relations & Advocacy, deepen your understanding of community leadership by applying theory to everyday situations. This session explores the role and responsibilities of the board, effective communication, working with the media, managing crisis; and building community support by informing and engaging while being responsive to community concerns and interests.
Governance Integration integrates the concepts of trusteeship and the governance team with the jobs of the board. At the end of the session, graduates of the program receive the Masters in Governance certificate, an honor recognizing dedication to your role as a school governance leader and demonstrating to your community your commitment to education.
Each course will have pre-course assignments which need to be completed prior to attending the full-day course. Once you are registered, pre-course assignments can be accessed through My CSBA using your CSBA user ID and password. A current email address is required.
