Peggy Wozniak

Faculty, University of Nevada, Reno

Peggy Wozniak has worked in rural, suburban and urban school settings as a teacher, principal and superintendent in California and New York. She is no stranger to the Masters in Governance program. Wozniak was one of the initial developers/presenters for the setting direction module when the MIG program started in 1998 while she was a superintendent for Mammoth Unified School District. In 2005, Peggy left California to pursue a superintendency in upstate New York.

While serving as superintendent in an upstate New York school district, Wozniak led the district in implementation of the Race To The Top Initiative that included implementing the Common Core Curriculum, a data-based accountability system for student achievement, and a revised system for teacher and administrator evaluation.

Wozniak returned as a MIG faculty member in 2015 when she moved back to the west coast. In addition to her work with CSBA, she is an adjunct faculty member for the University of Nevada, Reno, in the College of Education.
