David Haubert

David Haubert first discovered his passion for public service over a decade ago, when he decided to take a more proactive approach in his daughters’ education by running for the Dublin Unified School District Board of Trustees. As the former President and a member of the Board for ten years, Haubert was able to improve districtwide test scores, while maintaining a balanced budget, avoiding teacher layoffs, and upgrading classroom technology and infrastructure.
After completing the Masters in Governance program in 2012, Haubert ran for the Dublin City Council and won, receiving the top number of votes in a crowded field of six candidates. While on the Council, he has pioneered efforts to reduce residential density, invest in the city’s aging parks and attract new businesses to the region. He has quickly become known as an innovative thinker, effective communicator and a fierce advocate of fiscal responsibility.
An independent businessman, Haubert has led sales and marketing teams at national manufacturers and grocery retailers throughout the United States. He is recognized as an industry leader and currently advises Fortune 500 companies in the consumer packaged goods and retail trades on how to grow and expand their operations. His client portfolio includes corporations such as Nestle, Dreyer’s, Pepsi-Co and Safeway.
No stranger to burning the candle at both ends, Haubert has possessed a strong work ethic since childhood. After earning his Eagle Scout award in high school, he worked his way through college while attending California State University, Northridge. He graduated in 1991 with a bachelor’s in business finance and proceeded to earn his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1997.
Recognized for his leadership skills and ability to implement forward-thinking solutions, he has been appointed to a number of community boards, including the Alameda County Local Area Formation Commission (LAFCO), Anka Behavioral Health Inc. Board of Directors, Dublin United Soccer League Board of Directors, Hope Hospice Advisory Board, and Easter Seals Bay Area Finance Committee. A firm believer in the value of giving back to the community, Haubert is also a member of Dublin Rotary and a volunteer for the Red Window Project, a nonprofit committed to combating human trafficking.
Haubert joined the MIG faculty in 2015.
