Media Alert: ACSA and CSBA to Host Press Conference to Discuss LCFF and State Board of Education Meeting

What:

The Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) and the California School Boards Association (CSBA) are partnering to host a press conference on Thursday, Jan. 16 about the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) and the State Board of Education (SBE) meeting.

Wes Smith, ACSA’s Executive Director and Vernon M. Billy, CSBA’s Executive Director & CEO, will host with Superintendents and Board Members from Whittier Union High School District, Fountain Valley School District, Jurupa Unified School District, and Cupertino Union School District.

Nearly 200 superintendents and board members are planning to attend Thursday’s SBE meeting to endorse proposed LCFF regulations and Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) template.

When:  

Thursday, Jan. 16 at 8:15 am PST

Where:

ACSA and CSBA will have a tent on the Northwest corner of 15th and N Street (at Capitol Park) across from the CDE building.

  • Proposed LCFF regulations and LCAP template
  • Upcoming SBE meeting
  • How local districts are engaging their communities and local stakeholders to develop local plans and budgets to advance education for California’s public school students
  • How school districts are preparing for and developing LCAPs
